The two training weeks are over! YAY! The third week was the
week that all the interns got to split up and partner with a staff member to
lead a team. I got to help lead with Mikel, he is a really funny and outgoing
dude. The week was a little tough because I found out that team leaders are set
in their ways and sometimes hard to work with. The story of the family we built
for is a really moving one. The woman had lost her husband a year earlier and
was raising her children herself. She gave her life to the Lord just weeks
before we came and built for her. I was moved and happy to be able to build for
her. At the end of this week a fellow intern told
me that he had feelings for me and that he wanted to date me. It was a pretty
exciting week. I learned a lot about Jesus that week and I am so thankful.
Week
four was the hardest yet. All the interns had to build a double by ourselves.
That’s 7 people building a house in five days. It was such a hard and long
week. My emotions and my body really took a hit and I could tell everyone else
was feeling it also. It was a beautiful moment when we got to hand over the
home to a mom with children. After the dedication the interns got to pray for a
women’s handicap daughter. I am so thankful for the Lord allowing that to
happen. I’m so very excited for the next weeks to come and I can’t wait to
share what Jesus is gonna do!
March 26th:
Hey
everybody! So as you all know I started my internship with Casas Por Cristo on
the 12th of this month. The past two weeks we all have been learning
how to build a double and a single house. I am really not familiar with Mexico
so I was having a bit of a hard time with directions and knowing where I was.
The first week was a spin of different emotions. I can’t believe Jesus called
me out and sent me here!!! It’s just too good to be true. The call He has given
me is awesome and terrifying at the same time. The first Tuesday was the worst,
it was long and hot and so much to learn. We finished that house really fast
and we got to help with house 4000. I feel so blessed to be a part of that.
The
second week was different. We built a double in three days and it took a toll
on me. The building process wasn’t really hard, but what God did in my heart was
the hard part. He spoke to me about loving people and about how He loves me. I
was completely broken for a solid three days. I really feel like I have a good
grasp of the building process now all I need is a good grasp on the loving
process. Lord help! Starting Monday I get to help lead a team with a staff
member before I get sent off on my own. I’m really excited to lead and I can’t
wait to see how the Lord is going to use me.

ReplyDelete¡Adelante!!! Jessica Selburg, es extraordinario saber como las delicadas manos de una damita como tú, el Señor las utiliza para construir casas donde habitaran hogares de familias que le buscaran y amaran al Señor. Que seas como un perfume grato al Señor.
