I am kinda awkward at
writing on blogs, so here I go….
The first two weeks
where rough, getting up early, going to bed late. It takes a toll on you after
a while, but all of us pushed on. The first week we learned the ins and outs of
building a single house. Justin packing our heads full of knowledge on top of
trying to balance our emotions and answering questions. “Can I do this?” was a
question that kept popping into my head. After the weekend came and we finished
the house we dedicated it to the family, and a wave of relief washed over me.
Seeing the family and how happy they were, this is what made me answer the
question with a “yes”.
Something important
enough to note: Casas Por Cristo builds houses, but it’s more than a house,
it’s a chance to show Jesus to a family, to show that God has not forgotten about
anyone.
The second week was
learning how to build a double, it was similar to the single…. But bigger. It
was smooth up until the staff let the interns do all the drywall, I have never
been so frustrated in my life, but we did it.
These two weeks are going
to seem like cake when we start leading teams. The knowledge we obtained in
these first two weeks we will be able to apply in the coming weeks, but there
is a whole lot more we can only learn by jumping in over our heads.
Thanks for the
prayers, keep them coming.
